Ekta Utsav 2023
The Diocese of Delhi, on the 3rd of December 2023 celebrated the 53rd Ekta Utsav (Unity festival) at the Cathedral Church of the Redemption. The day was a soul-stirring celebration of faith, community, and the joyous arrival of the Advent season. The Ekta Utsav is celebrated on the first Advent Sunday every year and begins with celebrating the Lord’s supper. It brings together clergy, congregations, and the institutions of the Diocese of Delhi in a harmonious display of unity, witness, and service.
The 53rd Ekta Utsav unfolded with the celebration of the Lord’s Supper, where the English, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam Congregations harmoniously converged to weave a beautiful narrative, bringing congregations from diverse linguistic backgrounds that exist within the Diocese of Delhi. The service was presided over by the Rt. Rev. Dr. Paul Swarup, Bishop, Diocese of Delhi - Church of North India. Beyond the spiritual aspects, Ekta Utsav 2023 was a testament to the Diocese's commitment to community building. The annual fete was vibrant and full of community spirit and festivities. Set amidst blooming gardens, the fete featured stalls of handmade crafts, delectable treats, and lively games. Families enjoyed live carols from different churches while engaging in games, and a warm atmosphere, fostering connections among members of the Diocese. Blending tradition with joy, the fete created cherished memories for all attendees. The warmth and hospitality extended throughout the event reinforced the sense of belonging that is integral to the Christian community. Ekta Utsav served as a focal point for Diocesan institutions and churches, gracefully uniting them in a shared showcase of service.
