Christmas and New Year 2024 Celebration at Delhi Assembly: A Message of Unity and Peace

Ram Niwas Goel, Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, hosted a Christmas and New Year's Celebration. The then Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, Ms. Atishi, attended as the chief guest, while the Bishop of Delhi, the Rt. Revd. Dr. Paul Swarup was the guest of honor, accompanied by other Bishops.
In her address to the gathering, CM Atishi emphasized the nation’s secular values. She stated, “The greatest tragedy of our country today is that we have built walls of religion, caste, and language among ourselves. However, the essence of our culture is unity in diversity. Though we may differ in language, religion, and attire, in our hearts, we are all Indians.”
Honourable Speaker Ram Niwas Goel extended his festive wishes, remarking, “Christmas is a celebration of love and peace. The true meaning of this festival will be realized only when we strive for global harmony.”
The Chief Minister and the Speaker expressed their solidarity with the Christian community and conveyed their Christmas greetings.
Additionally, The Rt. Revd. Dr. Paul Swarup was honored by the CM and the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. He addressed the gathering with a Christmas message and shared the greetings of the season on behalf of the Diocese of Delhi.
